"It's raw, it's wild, you're away from everthing..."

I found this story of 68-year-old Ed Zevely very intriguing. Every couple months, he rides into the Colorado high country to camp for weeks at a time—and he does it completely alone. Through thunderstorms, open meadows and treacherous passes, he finds his own patch of serenity. Watch “Open Door to Solitude” now and truly understand the difference between loneliness and solitude. Enjoy!

This little film has some amazing shots. You are focusing on 'vast'. One of the best images, I think, is around 5:40 mark. Wide vista with a small man and horse. Talk about vast.

Thank you for posting this video. It brings up questions for me: What is loneliness, being alone...What is solitude? What is tranquility? What control do you have over any of these?

Looking forward to seeing your sketches transition into finished work!
