A New Spark

Yesterday my analog photography class went to UK to visit their art museum. They had a show going on of American photography. Some of it I liked and some of it I hated, but there was one room that really sparked my interest. This room was one full of photographs of documentations, real life usually. I was really inspired by many of the photographers including:

Ben Shahn

Robert Franks

Garry Winogrand

Garry Winogrand was a special treat to see because his series is so large they can't really display all of them. Allen (our tour guide) told us that this series was to show how society views women as beautiful sexualized beings. In this series we usually see women surrounded by very interested men.
