Art Club

I have the most wonderful opportunity to work with the Garth Elementary Art Club. Through the Civic Engagement program on Campus, the Art Education class taught by Leah Castleman has been able to provide gallery visits, lesson plans, and art projects to the after school program led graciously and generously by Ms. Mason.

Every other Monday college students work with the elementary students to bring them the art class that they no longer receive at school. Each day that I spend with ALL of these students I am humbled by watching imagination, creativity, and thought. I imagine most of our time spent together looks much like this...

I hope that our partnership with Garth only continues to grow and develop into our own imagined creature.

Great post and great link. Thanks so much for sharing this and reminding us of how fortunate we are to be able to connect with the Garth kids through art and our collections:)
