I have a great respect for people who make small things. In my art school days there was a common critique statement "if you can't make it good make it big and if you can't make it big make it red". It is not easy to make things well… period…but it is incredibly hard to make things well and small. Some of my favorites have been the Thorne Miniature Rooms at the Chicago Art Institute. Some samples seen below. The last image is there to show scale, the small viewing boxes contain each room.

And I just came across a short video on a place called "Northlandz". It is a train and miniature museum.  Some really great and grand things there. The other reason I am posting this is for the camera technology that was used by the featured photographer. It is the sony qx100. Darrell and I have had many discussions about why digital cameras have the body shape of film cameras. Film cameras are shaped for function, transferring film across its back. But digital cameras could be any shape really. I love that this one looks like just a lens. It took me a second to recognize that THAT was the camera and not just a lens.  Anyhow fun stuff.
