GALLERY DIRECTOR DESCRIPTION:
The LASC seeks a motivated, energetic, Gallery Director who will further develop and implement an exciting new direction in interactive and participatory art and craft exhibitions and peripheral programming in the Art Gallery at the LASC, as well as additional exhibit areas in the facility. The Gallery Director will develop the art gallery schedule; select artists for solo and group shows; procure, prepare and install exhibits; and collaborate with artists, staff, and community partners to develop the educational and interactive elements to the gallery exhibits. The Gallery Director will also collaborate with the Executive Director and program staff to develop and present peripheral programming for schools and teachers, children, adults, and families. This will include field trip programs, professional development programs, and exhibits and participatory events for community programming such as the LASC’s Day of the Dead Festival.
