Adding Insult to Art

Lists are in ample supply this time of year. Colleges thrive on them -- best buy, best colleges, ultimate lists. You name it, there's a list (and, probably, an app) for that.
Artists, art historians, and curators make lists too (as we've discussed elsewhere on the blog).
A friend sent another link to me of the "Top 30" artist on artist insults, in terms of harsh-ness. See here. Yes, they're funny, sarcastic, and acerbic. But they're also insightful, pointed, and (in some cases) deeply revealing of the chronic divides between modern and avant-garde. Check it out and let me know what you think. . .

Boy, Dali sure had a lot of negative things to say about other artists, yet not one comment about him or his work made the list (unless that's who Frida Kahlo meant).?. Interesting.

I am a little disappointed by the lack of Rothko insults on this list, he had some good ones, I'm sure of it!
