"Adding Insult to Art" cont.

Please enjoy Earl Grey's blog link from yesterday, fact, fiction, nevertheless. In spirit of re-writing, "Aliz-Bronz" style, the exchange between James McNeil Whistler and Fredric Leighton may go something like this:

Flaming June: “My dear White Girl, you've been left in such a sketchy, unfinished state. Who could have done such a thing?”
White Girl: “Oh, my dear, (whispering) ... worry not ... go to sleep.”

(see 28 & 29 at the end of the list)
welcome back!

Thanks for the riff. Indeed, the object stares (and speaks) back a la James Elkins.

Ha! truth be told, I've been re-reading Marguerite Yourcenar's Memoirs of Hadrian (for FDN112/ART170) was inspired by it. Whistler-Leighton exchange is too sweet not to play with. I'm glad you enjoyed it--
