A Million Little Pictures: photo op

What is it?
One thousand people from around the world will document their lives in 24 frames using a disposable camera. An exhibition will be held showing over 24,000 photographs.

Who should participate?
In a nutshell: you. We're looking for people with different cultures, ethnicities, geographic locations, and lifestyles. This is for anyone. You do not have to consider yourself an "artist" to participate.

An exhibition in my city?
We'll be organizing an exhibition at a gallery in the city that has the most participants.

Project Description
LexArts seeks Kentucky artists to display photography in an exhibit at ArtsPlace Gallery from May 8 -June 7, 2009. Point and Shoot: capturing the ephemeral will be a themed group show featuringrecent works by Kentucky photographers. Artists may enter works using any photographic process,whether digital, traditional, or alternative. Artists may enter up to six (6) works of any size. Artworksmust be ready to hang and can be for sale. ArtsPlace Gallery retains 30% of sales, price accordingly. Anonline catalog of works will be created for the exhibit.

"Now into its second decade, Lexington's Downtown Gallery Hop continues to be one of the city's most entertaining attractions. Five evenings a year, the connoisseurs, the collectors and the curious enjoy open house hospitality at dozens of galleries, museums, artists' studios, shops and restaurants throughout the downtown area. Downtown Gallery Hop was organized to highlight the work of central Kentucky's outstanding visual artists and to encourage people to acquire original works of art."
