RIP: The original Barnes building has closed, but the works live on

An interactive, virtual map of the collection in its original home may be found here. There's also a link to the story. The museum officially closed at the end of June. Its closure, as they say, marks the end of an era both in terms of collection, museum attendance, and the vestiges of patronage. On the bright side, the Foundation raised a miraculous $200 million toward the new building and a quarter of that set aside toward seeding their own, fledgling endowment. Story on that, here. Unfortunately, the raw politics of that situation still loom.
