RIP: The original Barnes building has closed, but the works live on

Its closure, as they say, marks the end of an era both in terms of collection, museum attendance, and the vestiges of patronage. On the bright side, the Foundation raised a miraculous $200 million toward the new building and a quarter of that set aside toward seeding their own, fledgling endowment. Story on that, here.
