I Dreamt They Had Wings is a solo exhibition by Kelly Frigard, a fiber- based artist who employs traditional techniques including weaving, spinning, embroidery and felting. An Associate Professor of Art at the University of Cincinnati's Clermont College in Batavia, Ohio, Frigard has exhibited her work locally and nationally recently. Her artistic practice has also taken her to Scandinavia where she has both studied and taught. She earned a Fulbright Fellowship to study traditional textiles in Sweden. Following her interest in felting and natural dyes, she also taught and studied at Jurva College of Arts and Crafts in Jurva, Finland. I Dreamt They Had Wings was on view in the Cochenour Galley of the Anna Ashcraft Ensor Learning Resource Center at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Kentucky through February 18. Frigard offered a felting workshop that day from 1:00 until 3:00 pm, with a closing reception at 3:30 in the afternoon in the Cochenour Gallery. Photos are from the closing reception. Thanks, Kelly, for a wonderful workshop and exhibition!
