POSITION: Visual Resources Manager Period: Starting July 16, 2012. RESPONSIBILITIES: James Madison University’s School of Art, Design and Art History (SADAH) seeks a Visual Resources Manager (VRM) who will serve the curricular and research needs of the school in the area of analog and digital visual resources. The VRM also serves as the SADAH liaison to university instructional technology for expansion of the capabilities of the Madison Digital Image Database (MDID). Select responsibilities include: directing on-site image production workflow, consulting with faculty concerning image acquisitions and accessions image orders for inclusion in the school’s visual resources collection, assisting with database administration, quality control, and entry of administrative, descriptive, and technical metadata, training and managing student assistants in image production tasks. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Art or Art History preferred; Master’s degree in Library Science and/or Art History preferred. KFW’S SPECIAL PROJECT SEEKING APPLICANTS FOR FREE WORKSHOP & PAID ART ACTIVITIES LEADER POSITIONS
KFW’s Special Project, focused on making art with families of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated loved ones, is expanding to include two community-based locations. To prepare for this expansion, Monica L. Williams, the National Artistic Director for the Special Project, will lead Art-Making and Empowerment Techniques for Re-Entry, a free interactive training workshop for up to 10 selected participants on Saturday, January 28th, from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm. All participants who complete the training workshop will then be eligible to apply for one of four new positions on KFW’s Special Project Team as twice-monthly Art Activities Leaders.

The deadline to apply is Friday, January 20. Selected participants will be notified on January 24.
