The Art Department is holding its second annual Artweek! Come and join in the festivities and spread the word about attending these undreamed of happenings each night from 6:00-8:30 PM. Also, don't forget to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the AMEN House; each item enters your name in a prize filled raffle.
Monday, April 7: Create a Chalk Paradise with the Painting Students in front of the Wilson Art Building.
Join the painting students in creating fabulous chalk paintings on the sidewalks around the art building.
Tuesday, April 8: Tattoo You with the Silkscreen Students.
The Silkscreen class will be having works on display while performative and interactive demonstrations will be going on.
Wednesday, April 9: Spontaneous Yearbook with Digital/Photo Students in the Anne Wright Wilson Fine Arts Gallery.
Pictures will be taken from 6:00-8:30 for an impromptu, online "yearbook." Make your portrait as fun or as serious as you like; be photographed on your own or with a group; dress up or wear your favorite costume, it's all up to you—just make sure you don't miss out!
Thursday, April 10: Movie Night with Kappa Pi.
Mona Lisa Smile (2003)—Katherine Ann Watson (Julia Roberts) has accepted a position teaching art history at the prestigious Wellesly College. Watson is a very modern woman, particularly for the 1950's, and has a passion not only for art but for her students. Although a strong bond is formed between teacher and student, Watson's views are incompatible with the dominant culture of the college.
