Believing strongly in the importance of awareness and building understanding through open communication, the main purpose underlying much of my work is to foster thought and dialogue. A mixture of installation, photography, video, books, and participatory pieces, (re)construction interrogates what is real and how we understand ourselves and each other. It further encourages visitors to go beyond being only viewers and to engage with the ideas and people around them.

Artist Opportunity / Art Auction

We are currently seeking artists who wish to participate in Boobalooza’s 2nd Annual Art Auction. The bulk of the money raised at our Annual Cancer Awareness Benefit is through the auctioning off of donated artwork we graciously receive from local Kentucky artists. Last year we raised over $6000 for the American Cancer Society; this year we hope to double it for the Susan G. Komen Foundation! All contributing artists will have the option of retaining a percentage of the final bid amount. If artist wishes to donate the work in full, they shall receive a tax-write-off receipt for value of their work. All mediums are welcome and there are no content restrictions, but keep in mind we are trying to get the maximum bid on each piece so put your heart and soul into it! For all 2D artwork, we ask that it is prepped for hanging. Deadline for submissions is Friday, May 15th.

Extended Deadline to MAY 3 for Juried Exhibition

Extended Deadline to MAY 3 for Juried Exhibition
(I just got this email from ArtHouse in Atlanta, Great opportunity for Everyone to show outside of KY)

As you know, we are having a Call for Entries to find the Ultimate Artist of the States (USA)…

Well, we decided to extend the deadline to MAY 3!

We realize these hard economic times may have kept some of you from entering. Also, with tax season upon us, we figured we would give everyone an extra month to enter and hopefully Artists would have a little extra left over from the tax return to Support the ArtHouse Lounge and hopefully take a chance to win Best of Show and $1,000.

We encourage artists of all 2D and Photography media to enter and have a chance to win $1,000, $500, or $250 for First, Second, and Third place respectively. That could go a long way in paying off some bills or buying plenty of new art supplies to continue doing what you love. ART.

To see full prospectus and enter online, click HERE

We appreciate your Support and wish all of you the best of luck in our competition and for your future careers in Art.

Sincerely,
Jason Piper
